Zach
grew up in Flagstaff and has been dancing nearly all his
life. This due to the fact that his entire family—extended
relatives included—somehow managed to incorporate it into
every reunion and small get together.
At a young age, Zach’s mom (Nancy) began teaching all the
children in his family, shuffle ball-change combos. Even
though tap shoes were not readily available at the time,
he was hooked.
Zach has since then, both taken and taught the art of tap
dance to children, teens and adults and continues to
further his own education now through instructional DVDs
purchased off the Internet.
Zach earned his undergraduate degree in communication,
electronic media from Northern Arizona University in 2006.
Although he is not currently usin g that degree, he
credits it for the professional job he landed as a
singer/dancer for Norwegian Cruise Lines through Jean Ann
Ryan Productions, a renowned company who works directly
with the choreographers of STOMP, Cirque Du Soleil, and
MTV. Reason being: one of his senior capstone projects at
NAU involved creating a compilation audition DVD that he
later sent to different entertainment vendors. This
“killing two birds with one stone” method paid off!
Although tap dancing is what he is known for, Zach enjoys
other forms of dance as well and hopes to continue dancing
(and tumbling) ‘til his legs and feet will no longer let
him.
