Preschool Ballet, Jazz or Tap (Ages 3-4)
These
classes are structured to ignite your child's imagination,
mind and body, thus enabling your child to discover movement
in a non-competitive, zero-failure
environment. Class size is limited to allow teachers to
focus on small and large loco motor skill development, body
image, spacial
awareness, balance and rhythm. Kinder Ballet, Jazz or Tap (Ages 5-6) Each class focuses on the continuing development of rhythmic and locomotor skills, body control, listening, and focusing, while exploring patterns of movement. This class is a great preparation for young children who are interested in dance. Class size is limited to allow teachers to give more personal attention to each student. No experience required, children placed by age. Primary (Ages 6-8) Junior (Ages 9-12) Teen Ballet (Ages 13+) Adult Ballet (18+) Classes at this level explore the basic vocabulary and technique of the feet, leg, and arm positions. Exercises are introduced to develop grace, balance and poise. Class space is limited per instructor. No experience necessary, students are placed by age. *Int. Ballet (Ages 9+) This class focuses on the further development of ballet vocabulary and technique. Emphasis will be on body placement, developing kinesthetic awareness and phrasing, and the dynamics of movement. Students must have three years of ballet training and a Teacher recommendation to participate in Intermediate Ballet. Students must be able to do the following, required skills: pas de bouree, pique turns, double pirouettes, grande jete and tour jetes. *Pre-Pointe (ages 10+) This class is only for the serious ballet student who wants to go onto pointe shoes. Exercises to strengthen the feet, ankles and legs will help prepare the student for the more advanced ballet classes. Students must have four years of ballet training. Approval by the Ballet Teacher is required. Students are required to take an additional ballet class for floor work at the ballet barre (Intermediate Ballet is recommended) *Demi Pointe shoes and ballet shoes are required for this course. *Pointe Ballet I & II (Ages 12+) This class is for the student who has successfully taken Pre-Point or Pointe I Ballet. Admittance is only by the approval of the Ballet Teacher. Students must be professionally fitted in pointe shoes and are also required to take an additional ballet class for floor work at the ballet barre. Advanced Ballet is required. *Advanced Ballet (Ages 13+) This class will focus on the most difficult of all ballet barre skills. Students must have six years of prior ballet training and approval by the Ballet Teacher. *Student must be able to do the required skills for all Intermediate and Advanced Level classes! |
